The Shaheed Sadr Conference 2009 was held successfully in London on 12 April with the grace of Allah (swt) with the participation of over 200 attendees. The conference marked the martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Sayed Mohammad Baqir Al-Sadr. This year's theme was "Second generation Muslims in the UK." Conference OutcomeMany attendees left the conference inspired, informed and enthused with new energy to improve their community in their capacity as second generation Muslims in the UK. Furthermore, the Muslim Youth Association (MYA) as organisers committed to organsing further study of Social sciences in Islam particularly with reference to Shaheed al-Sadr's work. Conference Booklet This 32 page booklet was given to all conference attendees on the day. It contains information about Shaheed al-Sadr as well as the theme. Shaheed al-Sadr Video This video was to be screened at the conference. It is a famous Arabic poem (with English subtitles) commemorating Shaheed al-Sadr. |
